SMART product is the only interactive whiteboard selected from nearly 150 nominated products
Calgary, AB --- December 3, 2003 --- SMART Technologies Inc. was awarded a prestigious Technology & Learning Award of Excellence for the SMART Board 580 interactive whiteboard as one of the best K–12 teaching tools of 2003. Out of nearly 150 nominated products, the SMART Board interactive whiteboard was the only interactive whiteboard to be selected, and one of only two integrated software and hardware systems recognized this year.
The Awards of Excellence recognized 27 educational software and Web products as the best K–12 offerings for 2003. Over thirty judges, including members of the education community and editors of Technology & Learning magazine, conducted more than thirty hours of extensive product testing during three rounds of judging. Ease of use, quality, effectiveness, creative use of technology and suitability for the school environment were some of the judging criteria.
